SBI Card: New 1% Fees from 1 December 2026
SBI Card’s customer notice, dated 27 October 2026, adds two fees from 1 December 2026:
- Transport payments: a 1% fee on each transport transaction above ₹30,000. The notice lists the merchant category codes (MCC) 4111, 4784 and 4131.
- Fuel: a 1% fee on your total fuel spends if fuel spends in one billing cycle go above ₹50,000. The merchant categories listed are 5172, 5541, 5542 and 5983.
A simple example (our calculation): if you pay ₹40,000 in one transport transaction, the fee would be ₹400. If you spend ₹60,000 on fuel in one billing cycle, the fee would be ₹600, because the 1% applies to the total fuel spend and not only the amount above ₹50,000. SBI Card’s notice does not list the cards covered, so check your own card’s terms or the notice page before you spend.
HDFC Bank Tata Neu Cards: New NeuCoins Claim Process from 25 November
HDFC Bank’s Tata Neu Infinity and Tata Neu Plus pages say that from 25 November 2026, NeuCoins have to be claimed in the Tata Neu app. Here is what the pages say:
- The primary cardholder claims the coins in the app: NeuCard, then Claim NeuCoins.
- The claimable balance shows up about 7 working days after your statement date.
- Coins must be claimed within 12 months of the statement date, or they expire.
The pages do not show the old process, so we cannot say exactly what is different. If you use a Tata Neu card, set a reminder to claim your coins every month.
Axis Bank Neo: BookMyShow Offer Needs More Spending from 1 November
Axis Bank’s Neo card notice says that from 1 November 2026, the 10% BookMyShow offer (up to ₹100 a month) needs ₹25,000 of spending in the previous 3 months. If you bought Neo mainly for movie offers, check whether your spending reaches that level. See our Axis Neo vs IDFC FIRST Millennia comparison for the card’s fees and other offers.
Other Recent Changes Worth Knowing
- Axis Bank EMI foreclosure (from 20 October 2026): for card EMI loans booked on or after 20 October 2026, closing the loan early can mean paying pro-rated interest on the outstanding principal. If you close it before the due date, pro-rated EMI interest is refunded with GST. Details are on Axis Bank’s card services page.
- Axis Bank annual fee reversal (from 28 August 2026): for the Select, Reserve, Magnus and Magnus for Burgundy cards, gift card spends no longer count toward the spend needed to reverse the annual fee.
- SBI Card EMI rates (September 2026): new rates apply for balance transfer on EMI (10% to 20% a year plus a 0.75% to 1.00% processing fee), Flexipay EMI and Pay in EMI (10% to 26% a year).
- HDFC Regalia Gold lounge access (from 1 July 2026): 3 domestic lounge visits a quarter, available when you spent ₹60,000 or more in the previous quarter. See our HDFC Regalia Gold page.
- Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank card offer: HDFC Bank lists an offer running until 30 November 2026, and you must enrol by 10 November. This is a promotion, not a rule change.

What We Could Not Confirm
We checked the official pages of HDFC Bank, SBI Card, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, HSBC, Kotak, BOBCARD, AU Small Finance Bank, RBL Bank, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank and American Express India, and found no other changes dated for November or December 2026. Several banks, such as HDFC, Axis, AU and IDFC FIRST, updated their terms documents in October without listing what changed, so some changes may exist that we cannot see. We could not read Federal Bank’s or Standard Chartered’s pages, and we found no RBI direction on credit cards taking effect in November or December 2026. Always check your own bank’s notice page and your latest statement.
What You Should Do Now
- Check your card’s notices. Look at your bank’s website, app and statement messages. Banks usually publish changes in notices on their website and app.
- Look at your spending. If you spend a lot on fuel or transport with an SBI card, work out whether the new fees apply to you.
- Set reminders. Coins and points that need to be claimed can expire if you forget.
- Compare cards if a change hurts you. You can see our best fuel credit cards guide and April 2026 credit card rule changes for earlier changes.
